New Shooting Horses For Sale Coming Soon!!!

Cain Ranch is a family owned and operated small horse ranch located just 2 miles outside Bonne Terre, MO. Horses are pracitically in our blood. Paul was raised on this farm with ponies, horses, and cattle. Karah was raised in Farmington showing Arabian and Half arabian horses showing for the first time when she was two years old. Paul attended Oklahoma Farrier's College and began a career of shoeing and training horses. Karah worked within the family Residential Care Facilities and then looking for a change of pace began working as a receptionist for a horse stall and equipment manufactoring company. There Paul and Karah met as they rode horses in the training faciliting joining the stall manufactoring company. It wasn't long before Karah's show polish and Paul's salemanship started a strong team. Paul and Karah married in 1996 and went to work building their ranch and their family with the birth of their son Kolby in 1997. They showed reining horses, trail rode, team penned and sorted, and continued to show locally.

Good horses have always been a part of our team: QTs Eagle, who was the 1999 APHA Congress Amatuer Reining Champion with Bobby Avila and the 2000 APHA Congress Reserve Champion Opening Reining and currently holds the leading money earner position from Qt Poco Streke's offspring, was trained by Paul and Bobby Avila. After some proding by friends and family Paul and Karah began Cowboy Mounted Shooting in August of 2005. The first CMSA Nationals they attended in April of 2006 landed Paul a National win in Men's Level 2 and Karah a 4th in Ladies Level 2! Since then the buckles, awards, and accomplishments have mounted including Kolby's 2007 Reserve World Championship finish in Limited Wrangler, and Karah's 2008 CMSA World Ladies 4 Class Win. The ranch isn't just about Paul, Karah, and Kolby. In January 2001 a new member was added to the Cain Ranch family; Kolt was born and then adopted through the Division of Family Services. The Cain Family works to match Cowboy Mounted Shooting horses with riders at appropriate levels in competition. They pride themselves on quality horses and a competitive spirit. The Cain's use Cowboy Mounted Shooting to give back to Parkland Foster/Adopt Families,a local organization that provides support for foster/adopt families. Paul, Karah, Kolby, and Kolt plan and organize an annual fundraiser shoot in October to benefit this organization that helps so many children and families.

Cowboy Mounted Shooting is one of the nation's fastest growing equestrian sports. Mounted contestants compete in this fast action timed event using two .45 caliber single action revolvers each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared black powder ammunition. Courses of fire are set in a variety of patterns. The first half (5 targets) of a course of fire will vary with each go and requires the horse and rider to stop, turn, change leads and accelerate rapidly. The second half (5 targets), called the "run down", is a straight course with targets set at 36 foot intervals. Find out more at www.CowboyMountedShooting.com
